What are you initial thoughts of Northern Ireland?
loving northern Ireland, people so welcoming and friendly, its a beautiful country
What has the welcome been like at Waringstown CC?
The team has been amazing, great bunch of lads there, made me feel at home the 1st day I met them. There’s a good change room vibe, full of laughter and jokes:)
What do you think of the Lawn and the facilities WCC have?
The lawn is a great venue and has amazing facilities for a club cricket ground, the management team are so passionate about there cricket, we appreciate the time they put in and produce quality wickets for us to play on
Have you got used to the weather?
haha I don’t think I will get used to the cold weather, thank goodness for the amazing heating system in our house!! when I left SA 3weeks ago it was still 30degrees!!!
Understand you are a keen fisherman, have you had a chance to go fishing locally?
have been out fishing a few times at Islanddery, 2miles from Donaghcloney and managed to catch a few nice rainbow trout, biggest being 3.5lb, hopefully that can get into the double figures:).
What is the strangest thing you and your wife have come across in Northern Ireland?
The strangest thing so far is the fact that you help yourself to petrol then walk into the shop to pay for it after you done!! if it worked like this in SA there would be no petrol left!!!:)
What is the best thing about Northern Ireland you have come across so far?
Well my wife quite enjoys the fact that chocolates and clothes are very cheap, she has fallen in love with the galaxy chocolates, and by the time we leave i will definitely have to leave my cricket kit behind, so jesse can take all her clothes home!!!! I’m really enjoying the fishing, hope to get in some salmon fishing before I leave
Have you been sight seeing yet in Northern Ireland?
We have only been into Belfast so far, Jesse has been away in London visiting her brother. will hopefully adventure more when she is back.We keen to head up North and see giants causeway
What are you hopes for the season ahead?
Waringstown is a good team, which showed it by them winning the all Ireland cup last year, but they missed out on the league win, would be great to keep the all Ireland cup and add the league to that!
