Muckamore host Waringstown on Sunday 19th June and we are looking to attract a record attendance of 600 plus at Moylena on the day. Waringstown play exciting cricket, Muckamore have some very talented young players and Moylena is one of the most beautiful grounds in the UK and Ireland to sit and watch a game.
To help us attract a record crowd we have launched a major Facebook campaign and are going to do a door to door leaflet drop to 5,000 homes in Antrim as well as a major poster campaign in shop windows, workplace canteens and schools in the area. As well as local press and radio. This is probably the biggest marketing drive of a club game ever undertaken.
Come along and see how successful it is. Witness club cricket with loads of supporters in attendance. Supporters bring atmosphere which will encourage more players and more sponsors. The game starts at 1pm , the bar will be open and BBQ’s available all day. Help us out by bringing your own seats. If your wife doesn’t fancy the cricket Junction One Shopping Centre is open 1pm to 6pm ( it’s only 2 miles away )and we recommend Moes Grill or Redz at Junction One for an after match meal.
I was fortunate enough to be at the lawn on monday the 2nd of may to witness that wonderful stand between a Mr. Nelson and your professional, truly wonderful hitting, I now do photography as a hobby and I took some shots of the two of them.
Also give my regards to derek healey whom I did not see on the day
but I managed to speak to my old friends Roy and Derek Harisson, If any of the two players would like a print please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Wishing the club all the very best for the rest of the season, Regards Jim Wright
Just wanted to pass on my thanks to your 2’s for coming down to the Phoenix Park last Saturday and playing an entertaining friendly against Civil Service. Hopefully we will be able to return the fixture next season and I will try to ensure my father keeps his finger in his pocket if he is doing square-leg next year. Wishing your club all the best at all levels this year, I’m sure you’ll be challenging for titles at all levels. It looks like you have some talented young lads coming through the ranks. Best of luck. Owen.
Everyone quite rightly aggrieved at the attempt to exclude associate nations from the World Cup or appreciative of the efforts of the Irish team in the sub-continent – I would urge you to turn up and support the teams return to Belfast. Games are on Saturday 28th an Monday 30th May. 28th has been declared a closed day for all other cricket.
As a club we produce Irish Internationals on a regular basis. Lets turn up as a club, put our hands in our pockets and show our support.
Genuinely believe these games are very important for the immediate future of Irish international cricket. Big turn outs mean the chance of more big games and more chance of overturning the ridiculous ICC decision.
On the off chance that anyone is reading the forum, we are trying to gather a comprehensive list of e mail addresses of all members (young and old), members friends, family, potential new members and so on!
This is to allow us to mail shot all associated with our great club to notify them about forthcoming events, fixtures, items of interest etc.
If you are interested could you send an e mail, clearly stating your name to admin@waringstowncc.com
