A superb all‑round display from the 3s this afternoon, highlighted by an astonishing innings from Matthew Allen, powered Waringstown to a dominant victory over Muckamore 4th XI at Allen Park.
Waringstown posted a huge 264–3 from 30 overs, thanks largely to a breathtaking performance from Matthew Allen.
He smashed 139 off just 74 balls*, clearing the ropes 12 times and hitting 6 fours in a knock full of clean ball‑striking and control. One of the great 3rd XI innings!
He was well supported by Ivan Hamill – a steady 32 to set the platform, Sam Matthews – 25 in a positive middle‑order contribution & Peter Hanna – a rapid 34* from 16 balls to finish the innings with real momentum.
With a big total on the board, the bowlers kept the pressure on throughout. Matthew Allen completed a dream day by taking 4 wickets for just 11 runs, while Max Hanna picked up 3 and Jake McKeown added another.
Muckamore finished on 156 all out, giving Waringstown a convincing 108‑run win.
