Hume 6-20 in 10-wicket Challenge Cup win

Our men’s first eleven produced their best performance of the season to date with a brilliant 10-wicket victory over Lisburn in the Gallagher Challenge Cup on Sunday.
Greg Thompson’s team had been handed a tough looking assignment as we tried to retain the trophy we won last season, but a stunning bowling performance from Graeme Hume was the key to our progress.
Hume struck a massive blow by having Lisburn dangerman Ross Adair caught behind in the first over by Matthew Halliday and proceeded to record stunning figures of 6-20 from his 10 overs.
There were also wickets for Tom Mayes, James Mitchell and Ross Allen (2-6) as Lisburn were dismissed for just 100 in 38.5 overs in between several rain showers.
After more rain, Waringstown’s target was revised to 95 off 42 overs, and overseas professional Steve Stolk made that the briefest of formalities by smashing eight sixes and three fours in an incredible 71 from just 32 balls.
Adam Dennison added an unbeaten 20 from 12 balls as we cruised to victory in just 7.4 overs.
